Johnny Flash, the lead guitar player for the local 80s metal band “ Big Hairball” has apologized to the audience that took in his performance on the weekend. In an open online letter to fans, Flash admitted that he did indeed play a solo that didn’t include every single guitar lick he has ever learned since he started playing.
In his on-line statement, Flash apologized for accidentally shortening one of his signature solos to just 15 minutes. “I simply lost track of time and ended up early. Even the rest of the band noticed. They quickly had to add some extra singing and whatever else it is that they do when I’m not soloing.”
“I also have to admit that I only ended up using 24 of the 26 guitar effects pedals during the evening and only changes my guitar during the performances 7 of the 10 times that I had planned to. I don’t know where my head was that night.”
Some fans have suggested online that drugs might have been reason behind Flash’s sudden lapse. Flash quickly assured supporters however, that he had, in fact, taken all the drugs that he normally takes before any performance.
Other Big Hairball band members also commented online saying, “We didn’t know quite what to do when it happened. It left a huge part of the song that we had to fill with other stuff besides guitar riffs. Not a place that we ever wanted to be.”
Flash wants to let fans know that, going forward, they can expect every lick I know in every solo. He intends to get right back into form for the band’s next show this weekend. “I want to let everyone know that they can expect the same old Johnny solos. Extra long and nothing left out every time.”
