“Oh, So NOW You’re Worried About a Super Intelligence Killing Us All?” Says Recently Released Psychiatric Patient Sarah Conner

With the recent upsurge in concern that AI technologies may become dangerous to the human race, one voice from the past has taken on new relevance. Sarah Conner, the person’s whose life the classic 1984 movie “The Terminator” is loosely based on, is taking a victory lap. She wants everyone to know that all the new concerns being expressed about the dangers of AI are old news to her. According to Conner, she raised these concerns and tried to warn authorities about the impending threat of AI technologies to humanity back in the 1980s. “Oh, so NOW everyone is worried about AI. My, how times have changed. Who sounds crazy now Mr. Smart Guy? Maybe next time all you people will listen a little closer to that crazy lady in the straight jacket.”

Conner was released from a mental health facility earlier this month after being forced into psychiatric care in the 1982 for insisting that humanity was in grave danger from a super intelligence known as Skynet. The loosely biographical, hugely successful film released in 1984, was written and directed by James Cameron and starred Linda Hamilton in the lead role. When asked about the movie, Connor replied, “The irony of my life has been that Hollywood got millions by making a show about AI taking over and I got put in a padded cell.”

Officials at the North City Psychiatric Facility, where Connor was being housed, released a statement saying, “Ms. Conner is being released from care due to her fantasies of technology leading to mass human extinction no longer being considered delusional by mental health experts.” Conner acknowledged this change in societal views towards technology saying, “I think if that movie was made now, people would see it more of a Docu-drama than a Sci-Fi film.”

Ms. Conner is still being required to attend regular mental health support sessions since, although she is no longer seen to be delusional in terms of the dangers of AI, she does continue to believe that the man-bun will someday come back into style and the the Canucks will win a Stanley Cup in her life time.
