Man holding coffee mug saying 'WORLD'S OKAYEST BOSS' and burger laughing as two coworkers show disgust

Local Man Plans to Keep Working Even After Lottery Win Despite No One Wanting Him to

Long time North City resident Randy Smith just broke the bank! Smith is the newest winner of the provincial lottery taking in over one million dollars. Despite the massive windfall, Randy says he’s going to continue working at Paramount Management Services, where he has been an office supervisor for more than twenty years. All this despite almost everyone else at the office wanting him to quit.

“Just try and stop me. If they think they can get rid of me that easy, they have another thing coming.” Smith told NCN reporters. “Those vultures that are circling trying to grab my office and executive washroom key just can keep circling for all I care.”

It is commonly known that Smith is not well liked around the office. When asked about Smith’s retirement, many of Randy’s co-workers had a lot to say. One anonymous source at Paramount told our reporters, “Stay working? Yeah, right. The last time anyone ever saw Randy working was the day when porn access was blocked on company computers.”

Other comments we were able to obtain include:

“The guy hasn’t cleaned his own coffee mug in the staff room since the 90s.” . “Somehow Randy thinks that personal hygiene is optional.”

“His taste for raw onion sandwiches every second day in the staff room is legendary.”

” If a million dollars can’t get rid of him what will?”

“Once he bought a really expensive car to put in the staff parking lot and he doesn’t even drive”.

Smith takes all this in stride. “It’s like that old saying “I’m paid not to be liked.”

” But I do think that, deep down, many of my coworkers would miss me. Really deep down. Regardless, I’m not going anywhere. All those young people entering the workforce needing a good paying job are just going to have to find it somewhere else.”

One coworker perhaps summed it up best when she said, “Randy’s absence will certainly leave a void at the office. One that will be easily and quickly filled.”
