They say that everyone has a calling in life. Some work to cure cancer, some work to feed and protect the venerable, some may even work a lifetime to invent just a single life saving technology. Finding that calling is one of life’s greatest gifts. Local resident Steve Wicks likes to think he has been given just such a gift. He has found his calling: Shaming people online that don’t park straight.
Wicks has been the driving force behind the popular badparkersshouldburninhell.com website.
Wicks told NCN reporters that, “It’s great to know, when you wake up in the morning, that today you are going to make the world a better place, you ARE going to make a difference!” He went on to say, “If I can even get one more person to not park crooked, I know that all my efforts have been worth it.“
One of Wicks’ greatest pleasures is posting pictures of a poorly parked car online and seeing all the rude and inappropriate messages in comment section. “It lets me know that all those hours of time in my basement are all well spent. Sure, I have to take time away from my family and limit my time at social events but that’s what commitment to a worthy cause requires. Just ask Gandhi, Nelson Mandela or Mother Theresa if they were alive. I am not saying that my work is as important or difficult as any of these people but then again, I am not not saying that either.”
Wicks’ motto is: “The world deserves every car to be parked straight” He then added, “And I am just the guy to help make that dream a reality. Just think how much better this world would be if people just parked straighter.”
Wicks let NCN know that he is working on a new online site that he describes as more entertainment than world changing. It is found at the badparkersshouldburninhell.com website. His new site thatlookssore.com and features pictures of life-altering sports injuries with funny comments added below. “It’s a good way for me to unwind a little after a day of helping others.”
