Local art expert Jay Dinly tells North City News staff that, “He has never seen anything like it. It simply does away with any standards of art and beauty that we have accepted in Western society.” Dinly is talking about the wrapped gifts that were created by local newly discovered “artist” and husband Shawn Dwire. Dinly went on to say that it is so exciting to see an artist that is so unencumbered by any standards of artistry, beautiful or taste.

“l aways thought I just sucked at wrapping presents.. Turns out I do suck at wrapping but only in a good way, I didn’t realize that sucking at wrapping is actually a talent?  Hey that makes me pretty talented I’d say..”

’I told my wife that she should appreciate my talents and not always complain that I just haven’t bothered to take the time to do a good job. I quickly reminded her that she only means a good job by everyone’s standards of good but not my vision of totally lacking standards.’

She then reminded me that I was killing Christmas for her, To which I replied that artists suffer for their art, and sometimes so does his audience.
