Local part-time musician is reporting a breakthrough in his struggle to free himself from what his longtime partner describes as ‘a crippling debilitating addition.’ Jack Smithe reports, “I was in a constant downward spiral that I just couldn’t break. As soon as I bought a guitar, I would immeadiately start looking for my next one. The more I had, the more I wanted. It was ruining my marriage and it was ruining my finances. Ok, I was totally killing it with other guitarists, so, yeah, it was cool in that way but it was not so cool in the long run.”
“I would still be ”buying” to this day if I hadn’t discovered that by just having a few drinks with buddies daily I could basically eliminate my interest in “buying” completely. I haven’t had the urge to buy just about anything but booze now that I am drinking more”
“An added bonus to drinking more often is that I have become a so much better guitar player even though I hardly practice anymore, I have noticed that my playing definitely sounds better than ever! The shackles of the addiction to guitar buying is now just a distant memory for me (along with the memory of almost most everything) and I feel confided that I can keep it there ”
